Horizontal Tube Furnaces

Horizontal tube furnaces are ideal for applications in which the sample size is relatively small in diameter, but processing in inert or reducing atmospheres or under vacuum is required.

The product can be placed in a combustion boat and slid into the tube from one end. At Deltech, our robust design and unique features, such as a removable rectangular roof plug allowing easy access to the furnace interior, take these units out of the realm of ‘catalog’ laboratory models.

What Our Customers Say

Deltech Horizontal Tube Furnace – More Information and Features

  • Single and multiple zones, each individually temperature controlled. Note that our control systems are UL508A compliant as certified by Intertek.
  • Sustained operating temperatures up to 1800 degrees Celsius. Elements can be wire wound, silicon carbide, or molydisilicide depending on the maximum required operating temperature for your application.
  • Mullite process tubes are most resistant to thermal shock. For higher temperature applications, alumina tubes must be used to minimize creep.  Deltech’s sales and engineering team can assist you in the selection of the best tube material for your application.
  • Standard models accommodate tube outside diameters up to 4″/10 cm and feature hot zone lengths up to 36″/91cm. Larger sizes are available as custom designs.
  • Optional tube end plugs to minimize temperature gradients.
  • Optional NASA designed water-cooled end caps create exceptional gas seals and allow access to the tube interior without the need to remove the caps. They can be supplied with custom fittings and oxygen and thermocouple probes if desired. They require a one slpm flow of water per end cap. Tap water is fine, but use of a chiller is better for the environment because it facilitates recirculation of the water. Chillers can be supplied by Deltech Furnaces or purchased separately.
  • Optional gas mixing and delivery systems include mass flow controllers, software driven digital control systems, fluid distribution heads.
  • For benchtop sizes, order an optional NEMA One connector kit for ease of installation without the need for an electrician.
