Deltech, Furnaces is proud to announce our commitment to Pathways to Prosperity: Advanced Manufacturing, a collaborative career pathways initiative submitted by Manufacturers Edge in partnership with Westminster Public Schools, Adams 12 Five Star Schools, ActivateWork, and Per Scholas. As a Colorado-based original equipment manufacturer specializing in custom electric resistance heated furnaces, we understand firsthand the critical need for a strong, skilled, and future-ready manufacturing workforce.
Why We’re Engaging in This Work
Like many manufacturers across Colorado, Deltech faces persistent challenges in hiring middle‑skill technicians who possess the right blend of technical knowledge, hands‑on experience, and workplace readiness. These challenges are not unique to us — they reflect a statewide need for coordinated, employer-led solutions that go beyond traditional program design.
This initiative stands out because it places employers at the center of the system. Rather than offering input in isolated advisory roles, manufacturers will help shape the structure, content, and expectations of the entire talent pipeline. That level of alignment is essential if we want to build a workforce that meets the real needs of today’s advanced manufacturing environment.
Our Commitment and Role
Deltech, Furnaces is stepping into this initiative as an active co-designer, not just a supporter. Our commitments include:
- Curriculum & Pathway Co-Design We will participate in Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) data collection and employer-led discussions to define priority competencies, validate skill requirements, and ensure curriculum alignment with current and emerging industry needs across the Denver Metro region.
- Work-Based Learning Opportunities We will explore ways to expand meaningful work-based learning, including facility tours, job shadows for middle and high school students, and structured internships for CTE and bridge program participants.
- Employer Champion Role We will help strengthen and sustain a regional advisory board that provides real-time insight into skill gaps, hiring trends, and program quality — during the grant period and beyond.
Looking Ahead
Colorado’s manufacturing sector is evolving rapidly, and the demand for skilled talent continues to grow. By participating in this collaborative effort, Deltech Furnaces is investing not only in our own future workforce, but in the long-term strength of the region’s advanced manufacturing ecosystem.
We believe that when employers, educators, and workforce partners work together, we can build pathways that truly prepare learners for high-quality careers — and ensure that Colorado remains a competitive hub for advanced manufacturing.
